My Laptop wasn’t invited on vacation

A few weeks ago, my husband, our three-year-old son, our six-year-old daughter, and I took a trip to San Diego. And let me tell you, we had the BEST time!

Usually, I bring my laptop and iPad on vacation, planning to wake up early and squeeze in some work on my art business. But this time, I made a bold decision: my laptop was not invited.

And do you know what I realized? I am SO TIRED of looking at screens. Aren’t you? I want to get out more, to truly experience life, to create with my hands.

Every day of our vacation was filled with activities. One of the days, we went to Legoland. I have to admit, I expected it to be underwhelming, but it was an absolute blast! My kids explored and discovered new things. I watched them come alive, their voices filled with excitement. They were truly happy.

Our daily routines can get monotonous, let’s be honest. And while a vacation wouldn’t be special if it happened all the time, I crave more of these experiences. I want to step away from the screen and immerse myself in the world. I think we could all benefit from a bit more exploration, seeing the world with the wonder of a child’s eyes.
