ABOUT THE ARTIST

Stefanie Rapoza

I’m a professional artist based in Sacramento, California. For 15 years I have straddled the commercial and fine art world with my talents being sought out in both fields. I collaborate closely with clients to transform their living spaces with personalized beauty, bringing their unique visions to life through custom murals and original canvas paintings.

The World of Abstracts

I work in two distinct abstract styles that allow me to express different aspects of my creativity. In one approach, I create messy, blended abstracts where I build up layers of paint to create a sense of depth and atmosphere. These pieces are deeply connected to my feelings and my bond with nature, evoking worlds of cliffs, forests, skies, and shores. They're about capturing the moments where land meets sky and exploring the play of light and shadow within these imagined universes.

My other approach is a high-contrast, shape-based style. In this work, I focus on the interplay of colors and forms. Sometimes the shapes take on their own personalities or convey specific concepts like loneliness or pressure. Other times, I'm purely interested in exploring how irregular, surrealistic shapes and a carefully chosen color palette can create a feeling or emotion within the composition.

The World Around Me

In addition to my abstract work, I find inspiration in the world around me. I love creating landscapes from photographs, capturing places that hold special meaning for people. I also enjoy painting florals with a unique, sometimes surreal twist, adding wonky leaves and unexpected elements that lend a touch of whimsy.

My creative purpose is to create art that resonates with people and enhances their spaces, whether it's for a home or a business. I'm excited by the process of bringing a client's vision to life and adding a piece of beauty to their world.

Outside the Studio

When I’m not painting, you can find me spending time with my wonderful husband and our two kids—our seven-year-old daughter and our three-year-old son. We often find joy in the simple moments, whether it’s a family walk, playing in the backyard, or the occasional trip to the coast - therapeutic and necessary.

In addition to family time, I maintain a consistent yoga practice, which has been invaluable to my mental health and brings me a similar inner peace to what I experience when painting.

I often share behind-the-scenes glimpses into life as an artist through my weekly email updates. If you’d like to stay in the know and gain early access to collection drops, be sure to sign up using the form below.
