Getting back to my “why”
As an artist these days, it’s so easy to get caught up in comparison mode. I suppose that goes for any of us, whether you are an artist or not. We weren’t meant to see what everyone is doing all the time. And as an artist, I shouldn’t be seeing what everyone is creating all the time because true art needs to come from within.
There have been several times along my artistic career when I have steered away from my true nature and tried to create along the lines of what I wanted to become. As I approach turning forty in September, I find myself starting to settle into who I truly am. I don’t actually feel like I need to be anything special for anyone. I just want to be me and create the art that I love, the art that I want around me in my home.
So why is it that we always feel we have to be more, be different, be better than we are? What if the entire journey of searching to “find” ourselves leads us back to the start all along? I don’t think the journey is actually about finding ourselves at all; it’s about uncovering and accepting who we already are. And once you let that in, your world opens.
I hope you have a great week.
Stef

New landscapes available 8/30/24
If you’ve been following along on Instagram then you’ve seen a little glimpse into my latest, small works on paper and canvas. I am loving the dreamy landscapes and florals I’m working on! They give me all the peaceful, serene vibes and they are so gorgeous up close! Many of the paper works will come in a white or natural wood frame and will be available in my shop at the end of the month. If you see one and fall in love before it is released, don’t hesitate to DM me on Instagram or reply to this email. ❤️

Placer Artists Tour Nov. 8th-10th & 15th-17th
I am SO excited to be participating in the Placer Artists Tour this year! If you are not familiar with the tour, it spans two weekends in November when all participating artists open their studios to the public. I will be opening my home studio and sending out invitations. You'll be able to visit, view art on display, and see the space where I create, all while enjoying drinks, bites, and conversation! Please let me know if you are interested in receiving more information by replying to this email. There are 15 participating artists in my Roseville/Rocklin region, and we will be sending out regional brochures soon!
