Turning Setbacks into Comebacks
You know that feeling when everything seems to be going great—maybe you’ve nailed down a workout routine, you’re eating well, and your mental health is on point? Then BAM, life throws you a curveball. Your initial reaction might be to retreat and feel sorry for yourself, or perhaps you charge ahead like a steam train, fueled by anger. Whichever way you respond, it’s usually what your body needs in that moment. Remember to give yourself some grace.
For me, it usually starts with a good cry, followed by dwelling and overthinking. Eventually, though, I have to shake myself out of it and get moving. Staying still can feel like acceptance, but being active makes me feel like I’m taking charge. Sure, there will be those times when we need to be still and possibly just be with someone else who needs that stillness from us.
This road as an artist and entrepreneur can be a lonely one. It’s a road filled with both highs and lows. While social media often showcases the highlights, I won’t deny there are times when I’ve had a good cry on the floor. What I’ve come to realize is that during those times, it’s all about what we do next.
Maybe you’re facing a tough situation right now. What’s your go-to: accepting and staying still, or rising up to the occasion? I believe in you. I believe in your strength. You’ve got this.
